Donya Kiana is a self-taught singer-songwriter & visual artist, hailing from the state of Michigan. Her journey of self-expression began at a young age and has taken her on a path of creative exploration; an unwavering passion for creating something new and original while intertwining history. Donya's work showcases a combination of raw talent and vision, even without formal training.
Her music is nuanced, blending a strong vocal and dynamic instrumentation with elements of folk, indie, Irish ballads, classical, and pop, resulting in a unique and mesmerizing sound that captivates listeners. Jordan Adema, her long-time friend and violinist, has accurately labeled this sound as “Cemetary Folk”. With a voice that is both soulful and haunting, she effortlessly communicates emotions, leaving her audience deeply moved with a sense of longing.

After years of dedicated performances in Michigan, USA, Donya has become well-established in the Midwestern music scene. Her passion for authenticity has been fueled by multiple inspiring visits to Europe in recent years, leading her to an exciting new chapter. She has made the decision to move to London in the spring of 2024, realizing her dream of performing original music in ancient venues across Europe.
